Back to School for ME!

After a 22 1/2 year break, I am back in school. 3/4 time this semester with full time in the summer. I've changed educational paths since Montana State University and am pursuing my Cosmetology Degree.

That is a big change from Home Economics Education with a Math minor!

So why the change?  1) I have always wanted to go to cosmetology school. 2) I really am drawn to aesthetics (skin care) 3) I need a flexible career that works with tie dye.  4) I love working with color! So here you have it - 4 of the reasons I am back in school.

Introduction to Microcomputers
I'll keep you posted as to how it goes.  So far I have moved from freak out to work mode. I have 3 classes this semester; 4 credit class, 3 credit class, and 2 credit class. Guess which one is most work?

If you guessed the 2 credit class you'd be right. So far the fewer the credits = the most work.  Maybe that will change?

My study buddy is my dog Zeus. He is such a sweetie! Have a peek.

Until next time!

Another School Year

It is January and our school year is half over.  Abbie is a junior and Daniel is in 7th grade. Melissa is a college junior and Katie has graduated college and has a "big girl" job. If I had a dime for every time I have thought, "Where has time gone," I would be on the way to getting rich. Yet I wonder again, where has the time gone? I'm in my 19th year of homeschooling and have 5 to go.

What I have learned over the past 19 years is to be flexible (I have learned many more things - but this is important.)  I'm not so good at being flexible all the time.  I'd prefer to just roll with the punches but I end up stuck in rigidity - UGH! Oh, I am not talking about the ability to touch my toes flexibility either.

I'm looking forward to next year when Abbie takes some college classes, I take college classes, and Daniel is in the 8th grade but I also need/want to savor this year and focus on the here and now. In a few short years I will be done teaching my children and don't want to look back on those 24 years with regret.

So, this year I will work on savoring the here and now.

Happy New Year!
